Ivy, I used the Fairchild's Dictionary for the backbone of the thesauri that I had to design for the slide project, so I know what you are talking about.

I remember you using Fairchild's for your slide work; I used it for my illustration catalong project, but found it wasn't really enough. I liked the descriptive terminology in the Design Details books and in Abling's Fashion Sketchbook, and I am thinking there must be a way to combine all these resources into a thesaurus.
But I'm not taking vocabulary design until the fall, and until then I've got my hands full with other things, and my brain is so full it has pretty much ceased functioning. I heard you have midterms coming up, so I know you can relate...
When you design your ultimate fashion system, you'll be able to use all of those books in your vocabulary. Once you pick a data scheme, you can attach different sources for different fields.
